How it works
A research session, step by step
Five steps from a loose idea to a written conclusion you can come back to.

Write the idea and the hypothesis
Describe the idea in a sentence, then fill in condition, expected outcome, horizon and failure criterion.
- Specific enough to be wrong
- Failure criterion written before the test
- Saved with the note
FAILS IF the result is worse than buy-and-hold in 3 of 4 scenarios
Choose scenario, template and assumptions
Pick a sample regime and a strategy template, set the windows, fee, slippage and position size.
- A live preview recomputes as you type
- Defaults are deliberately simple
- Every assumption is stored with the run
Range-bound · Mean reversion 20 bars · 2.0 σ entry · 8 bps per fill
Run, compare and read the summary
Save a run, switch the scenario, run again. Compare runs side by side in the run table.
- Results recomputed on the server when saved
- Rule-based summary for each run
- Optional AI explanation when enabled
Run 1: +4.1% · Run 2: −2.3% · Run 3: +0.4%
Record the conclusion and export
Write what you learned and what you would test next. Export the note or delete it whenever you want.
- JSON, CSV or Markdown export
- Edit history kept with the note
- Delete one note or all your data
“Edge disappears above 12 bps. Next: slower exit.”
What happens to your data
- Stored
- Your email, your notes and runs, a session record while you are signed in, and consent records (for example, that you accepted the Terms).
- Not stored
- Passwords (there are none), payment details, brokerage credentials, IP addresses in our database.
- Your control
- Export or delete your notes at any time in the workspace; delete the whole account in Settings.
Try the loop once
One idea, four scenarios, one written conclusion. That is the whole method.
